Land in Christchurch.
We will be waiting for you outside for meet & greet. After the formalities and other boring bits we will allow you to get over the long
flight and chill. We start our fun tomorrow with a visit to the beautiful Spa town of Hanmer. (For those of you with a bit of restlessness, we won’t be too far from you anyways)
Next day after breakfast we make start towards the spa town of Hanmer. Hanmer is 23 Kms away from Christchurch and is a roughly a 3 hour drive. We aim to be in Hanmer by 1pm. Hanmer has hot pools you can enjoy the rest of the evening there. We spend the night in Hanmer.
Next morning after breakfast we drive towards the top of South Island, our destination Nelson. Nelson is 123 Kms from Hanmer and we should be able to get there by 2pm. The evening is at leisure and suggested is a beer/wine tour. Nelson is a great place for riding bicycles. Next morning we do some ocean fun with tours and kayaking. 2 nd night in Nelson.
Next day we make our way to Punakiki, after breakfast as always. Punakiki is 123KMs away from Nelson and it will take us roughly 4 hours to get there. So if we can make an early departure we should get there safely by 2 pm in the afternoon. We will have enough time here to explore the caves and jade jewelry the town is famous for. In the evening we head to Greymouth our digs for the night.
Another day and another journey onwards. Today after breakfast we head towards the glacial region. We leave Greymouth at 10 in the morning and after a journey of 3 hours covering a distance of 200 Kms we find ourselves in beautiful Franz Joseph. Check out the glaciers and we spend the night here.
From the Glacial we continue on the West Coast till Haast, and from there head inland towards Wanaka. On route to Wanaka we have a little surprise for you. We get to Wanaka around late evening and we spend the night here.
We move towards the main attraction of the trip, to the alpine town of Queenstown. You would have heard and seen many things about this town, but nothing will compare to reality. Yes it is that beautiful.
We start early today and you will thank us for it later in the day. Today we go on a tour of the Milford Sounds. If you thought you had gotten used to all this natural prettiness, this cruise will prove you wrong. This tour is included in your trip which also has an onboard buffet provided on the cruise.
Today we can chill, it can be an easy day or an adventurous day. You choose! We leave this day to enjoy what queenstown really offers and partake in adventure activity. That is if you so wish to do so. There are many adventures to choose from, ranging from bungee jump to sky diving. If you do not care for adventure, do not worry there are plenty other things to keep you busy, including wine & shopping! ; )
Today it’s goodbye Queenstown and Hello Lake Tekapo. Glacial melt gives Lake Tekapo an unique and mesmerizing shade of aquamarine
blue. Don’t worry you will remember this sentence when you see it. This will be our halt for the night and other than the lake, very beautiful and very photographed Church of the Good Shepherd is also here. No explanation will be required as to why it is one of the most photographed icons of NZ. This region is a light conservation zone boasting one of the darkest skies in the world. On a cloudless night here you can a see an illuminated sky that you cannot even imagine. We can also head to the Mount John café to marvel at wonder of the stars. The fact that you will be spellbound can very easily be interpreted as an understatement.
We head back to where we started from, to the beautiful city of Christchurch. Can you believe it, we are going back?! It will be an easy day and we travel the east coast route this time. We also pass through the beautiful wine country of Central Otago and charming little towns of
Geraldine and Fairlie. We aim toreach Christchurch in the later in the day. You can indulge in a bit of shopping if you wish or just relax.
Do you believe it’s already time to head back?
All good things must come to an end so must this, we will arrange for you to be
dropped at the airport according to your flight schedule.
